List of Eligible Collective Investment Schemes under the New Capital Investment Entrant Scheme (New CIES)

As announced by the Government, a new Capital Investment Entrant Scheme (New CIES) has been launched with effect from 1 March 2024 to further enrich the talent pool and attract more new capital to Hong Kong. For further details of the New CIES, please visit the  hosted by Invest Hong Kong.

Under the New CIES, eligible collective investment schemes (Eligible CIS) are a type of permissible investment assets (under the category of permissible financial assets). The scope of Eligible CIS includes:

  1. SFC-authorised funds (Note 1) managed by corporations licensed by or institutions registered with the SFC for Type 9 regulated activity;
  2. SFC-authorised real estate investment trusts managed by corporations licensed by or institutions registered with the SFC for Type 9 regulated activity;
  3. SFC-authorised Investment-Linked Assurance Schemes (ILAS) (Note 2) issued by insurers permitted to carry on Class C business as specified in Part 2 of Schedule 1 to the Insurance Ordinance (Cap. 41); and
  4. open-ended fund companies (OFC) registered under the Â鶹´«Ã½ and Futures Ordinance (Cap. 571) (SFO) and managed by corporations licensed by or institutions registered with the SFC for Type 9 regulated activity.

Note 1: Referring to unit trusts and mutual funds authorised by the SFC under the Code on Unit Trusts and Mutual Funds.

Note 2: Referring to ILAS authorised by the SFC under the Additional Guidance on Internal Product Approval Process.

The list below sets out information about investment products which are Eligible CIS per SFC's records.

Points to note

  1. Information posted on the list is compiled on a best-effort basis.
  2. Please note that it may take time for information received from the product issuers to be posted to the list and the list may not always contain the most up-to-date information about all the Eligible CIS. For enquiries about the list, please contact the SFC at enquiry@sfc.hk.

  5. Any SFC-authorised unit trust / mutual fund / ILAS that does not have a product key facts statement shall not continue to be marketed to the public in Hong Kong. Product issuers may decide for other reasons whether and when an SFC-authorised product is open or closed for subscription. In case of doubt, investors should consult their intermediaries or the relevant product issuers.
  6. Funds denoted with "#" have both listed and unlisted unit/share classes.
  7. Funds denoted with "+" are not authorized as exchange traded funds listed in Hong Kong.
  8. For OFC, a private OFC or sub-fund as indicated in the "Private / Public" column means the OFC or sub-fund is not authorised under section 104 of the SFO. Accordingly, it may not be offered to the public in Hong Kong unless an exemption under the SFO applies.
